The HighPressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) was first developed in the 1980s and was used predominantly in the cement and diamond industry (Morley, 2006).The HPGR is a compression machine developed from the fundamental studies on fracture mechanics of single particles and multiple layers of particles in a packedbed (Schönert, 1979, Schönert, 1986, Schönert, 1988).
